Republican nominee Donald Trump rescued from a stranded elevator during campaign visit
A giddy if exhausted Hillary Clinton embarked on a post-convention Rust Belt bus tour just hours after becoming the first female presidential nominee of a major political party.

Trump’s event will be held at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum in Denver.
Trump asked, “How do you lie to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and now you are running for president?”
Twice in a matter of days, Donald Trump has picked a fight with a local fire marshal, accusing these officials of imposing arbitrary, politically motivated limits on how many people may attend his rallies.
Trump’s comments about Khan came a day after he criticized retired four-star Gen. John Allen and slammed a Colorado Springs fire marshal for capping attendance at the event.
Trump says Khan was “very emotional” and probably a nice guy, but the niceties don’t last long: “If you look at his wife, she was standing there”.
During a campaign stop in Colorado Springs, Trump lambasted Colorado Springs Fire Marshall, identified by The Hill as Brett Lacey, as soon as he walked on stage, saying restrictions on attendees at his rally that Lacey apparently imposed were why America “doesn’t work”.
Their goal is to turn out the coalition of minority, female and young voters that twice elected Obama while blunting some of the expected losses among the white men drawn to Trump’s message. “They do it anyway”, Trump said about an ad addressing that issue. Nearby Trump supporters engaged in some verbal debates as a flank of police officers stood in the middle of the two groups. The Republican nominee didn’t seem prepared.
This attitude stands in contrast to a letter signed by some 115 UCCS professors expressing disapproval of Trump’s visit on campus, stating they object to his rhetoric and accusing him of fueling fear of minorities.
The doors were supposed to open for general admittance at 4 p.m., but that was delayed.
A long line of attendees trying to get in snaked down the sidewalk and around the building.
Michael Brinn, a local elementary school administrator, was one of 75-100 protesters.
He said he never remembered meeting Kovaleski. “They use their presence”.
Deborah Knight, who’s from Old Colorado City, was one of the more outspoken protesters.
Trump said he was depicting the reporter grovelling to him.
“She doesn’t know how to win, she’s not a victor”, he said in an excerpt of the interview set to air on Sunday.
About 300 people protested Trump’s visit outside the venue.
