Republicans ask Clinton Foundation to produce State Department correspondence
“Cut the ties to the family”.

Hillary Clinton’s ties to the foundation have come under increased scrutiny in recent months following allegations of ethical impropriety surrounding her tenure as secretary of state.
Trump has repeatedly accused the Clintons of “pay-to-play” practices and often points out questionable deals involving the foundation.
Now, he faces the prospect of walking away from the Clinton Foundation.
Well, this was a startling thing to read on the editorial page of the reliably left wing, Democrat cheerleading New York Times: “The emails and previous reporting suggest Mr. Trump has reason to say that while Mrs. Clinton was secretary, it was hard to tell where the (Clinton) foundation ended and the State Department began”.
The paper discusses the current plans for the foundation if Clinton becomes president, including the reduction in donations from big corporations and foreign governments and the plans for Bill to resign from the foundation’s board.
The New York Times editorial board on Tuesday implored Hillary Clinton to distance herself from the Clinton Foundation and ban contributions from foreign donors now rather than waiting until the conclusion of the 2016 presidential race. Hillary Clinton has even raised the prospect of putting her husband in charge of “revitalizing the economy”.
The foundation has said it will no longer accept foreign or corporate funding for at least some of its work if Clinton is elected.
Critics questioned whether she could remain partial while accepting donations from foreign entities so, as reported by Buzzfeed, the foundation agreed in 2009 to disclose all donations each year and limit donations made by foreign organizations.
Still, Feingold said questions about donations to the Clinton Foundation are something Democratic presidential nominee needs to be open about, while he also supported the view that the foundation may need to suspend operations if she wins the presidency in November. If Mrs. Clinton wins, it could prove a target for her political adversaries.
However, agency officials have uncovered little in the way of evidence that State Department attorneys or other ethics officers examined the arrangement to ensure Abedin would keep her foundation and diplomatic work separate.

When Bill Clinton told the staff of his global charity he would have to step down if Hillary Clinton won the White House, he was vividly clear about how that felt: Worse than a root canal, he said.
