Republicans Chose Trump’s Fascist Agenda Over Education of America’s Children
Vice President Pence (R) arrives at the US Senate, beside Deputy Senate Sergeant at Arms Jim Morhard (L), before the Senate votes on the confirmation of President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. Susan Collins (R-Maine) voting in opposition due to what they said were DeVos’ inexperience with public schools and her career advocacy of private charter schools.

The Traverse City Education Associations says DeVos’ stance on school choice and funding of public schools in concerning.
In a statement, Patty Murray, ranking member of the HELP committee that spearheaded the fight against DeVos, says she knows “millions of people across the country” have been “activated and energized by opposition to [DeVos’s] nomination”. She also helped create a network of for-profit charter schools in MI that education officials say have questionable results in student performance.
Betsy DeVos sometimes found it hard to keep her composure during her grueling confirmation process as the nation’s new education secretary. DeVos has supported school vouchers that give funds for parents to educate their kids outside the public school system. You got kids. They have friends. Along with a photo of the two of them during a meeting, Cornyn goes on to say, “Power over education should be handed back down to the states, so that parents and teachers can choose how best to accomplish our universal goal of making sure every child has a good education”. A vice president breaking a tie on a Cabinet nomination would be a first in the history of the Senate, according to the Senate historian’s office.
She also shared a message from Lorelei, a middle school principal on Oʻahu. “You couldn’t answer basic questions about education during your hearing”.
The Left, of course, remains unconvinced, and ironically is now threatening to use school choice and teach their children at home.
She continued by stating that low and middle-income families in Kentucky now lack the resources to choose the school that best fits the needs of their children. From 2004 to 2008, Booker sat with Betsy DeVos on the board of the Alliance for School Choice, a pro-charter and school vouchers outfit founded by John Walton, one of the heirs to the Wal-Mart fortune.
State Democrats probably won’t be cohosting the DeVos reception.
“[Democrats are] trying to humiliate and embarrass some of these nominees”, Conway told Fox News, saying DeVos is committed to education.

Lily Eskelsen Garcia, president of the National Education Association – the country’s largest teacher union – says she’s built a Rolodex with the sole goal of fighting Trump’s education agenda. They also control most state government education departments as well as state colleges and universities where teachers must attend indoctrination sessions, I mean classes, in the “new” educational methods in order to receive state certification – a symbiotic relationship if there ever was one. She has worked for decades, however, so more children could have the educational opportunities she had coming from a wealthy family.
