She was extremely quiet, and it looked like she had nothing to say. “A lot of people have said that”.

Both House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued statements over the weekend praising the couple’s son. Capt. Khan was one such courageous example.
Pocket Constitutions have become a best-seller after a Muslim-American lawyer, Khizr Khan, waved his copy in the air during a speech at the Democratic National Convention.
The real estate mogul essentially implied she wasn’t allowed to speak because she’s Muslim, which proves he didn’t get the point of the speech in the first place.
Appearing on MSNBC’s Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, Mrs. Khan explained that she has decided not to speak on stage due to her fears of being “overcome emotionally”.
Writing in the Washington Post, Mrs Khan said she did not speak because she finds talking about her son’s death extremely hard. Donald Trump, you’re asking Americans to trust you with their future.
Asked on CNN what message he could give Trump, the father said he wanted to maintain his family’s dignity and convey to Trump “that a good leader has one trait. empathy”.
Khan continued, “And yet a private citizen in this political process, in his candidacy for the stewardship of this country, I can not say what I feel?” What sacrifices have you made for your country? McCain, the Republican choice for president in the 2008 election – a man who spent six years as a prisoner of war by the North Vietnamese – had previously offered what might be considered only a tepid endorsement of Trump. His father and grandfather served as career naval officers. “He was a war hero because he was captured”.
Trump says that his role as a job creator in his business empire is proof he knows how to sacrifice, though his stance has already been subject to mockery and scrutiny. Trump said Monday on Twitter.
“I challenge the nominee to set the example for what our country can and should represent”, the Arizona senator said of Trump. “But I think you’re hearing a guy who’s anxious about whether he can be reelected in Arizona”, Giuliani told the newspaper. “You have sacrificed nothing and no one”.
“Donald Trump will support our military and their families and we will defeat the enemies of our freedom”.
On Monday, Iowa Democratic Party Chairwoman Andy McGuire called Trump’s comments “despicable and disgraceful” and demanded that Iowa Republicans publicly condemn the GOP presidential standard-bearer’s “hateful rhetoric” in criticizing the mother of a fallen USA soldier. When you say your job building buildings is akin to our sacrifice, you are attacking our sacrifice.
In an open letter, almost a dozen so-called Gold Star families – families who lost relatives in wars – said Trump cheapened their sacrifice and called for an apology. “You are minimizing the risk our service members make for all of us”.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, issued a statement Monday saying Americans ought to honor anybody who fought to maintain freedom no matter what race, religion or background, adding he is friends with a Muslim family in Cedar Falls whose son served in the USA armed forces. “All Americans should value the patriotic service of the patriots who volunteer to selflessly defend us in the armed services”.

That’s despite a Sunday night statement issued by Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, that sought to paint a more conciliatory picture, saying, “Donald Trump and I believe that Captain Humayun Khan is an American hero and his family, like all Gold Star families, should be cherished by every American”.
