United State Senator Dan Coats had good things to say after Donald Trump announced that Indiana Governor Mike Pence was his pick of Vice President.

In the wake of the terror attack in France, GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump has postponed his official announcement about who he has chosen to be his running mate.
Pence was up against former speaker of the house Newt Gingrich and the Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie for the role.
“We have to call him”. I have great respect for Governor Pence. In the past, Trump has been pro-choice, but has said his stance on the issue has evolved since then.
Pence also had to notify the state whether he would withdraw from the reelection campaign for governor of IN by noon on Friday.
Among the notable politicians not seeking the governor’s seat are Daniels and Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma, who said in a statement Friday that he was passing on the race despite receiving “many calls” urging him to run.
He has often described himself as “a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order”.
The 57-year-old Pence is a relatively unknown figure outside of Republican circles and his own state, but is popular with the party’s conservative base and leadership. Clyburn and Pence served together when Pence was in the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2011.
Also on Thursday, a movement to stop Trump from becoming the Republican nominee at next week’s convention was all but ended.
“I firmly believe a Trump-Pence Administration will be filled with leaders who share my conservative values to defend our Constitution and to accurately represent the voice of the American people”.
Pence withdraw his name from the IN governor’s race Friday, which he had to do by noon for the state party to be able to put forth another nominee.
Author Ann Coulter, who has been a staunch, unwavering and loyal Trump supporter, isn’t happy with the choice.
“I haven’t made my final, final decision”, Trump told Fox News Thursday, adding that the “horrible attack” in Nice, France on Bastille Day would “absolutely not” influence his selection of a running mate. He was among the first Republicans to embrace the tea party on Capitol Hill.
The last time Pence – governor of IN since 2013 – was IN the national spotlight IN a major way, it was for the so-called “religious freedom” law he signed IN 2015 that human rights activists said would allow businesses to discriminate against gay people.

In a statement, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta described Pence as the most extreme Vice Presidential pick in a generation.
