Republicans to nominate Trump on day devoted to economy
After Christie, Dr. Ben Carson appeared to close out the night with a brief homily about the evil of “one of Hillary Clinton’s mentors”, community organizer Saul Alinsky.

While in Cleveland, Trump ally Chris Christie said on Tuesday that should Trump win the presidency, he would seek to purge the federal government of officials appointed by Obama and could ask Congress to pass legislation making it easier to dismiss public workers. “We have always been masters of our own”.
But in the four years since, Christie has mostly been a victim of destiny. Christie has now pinned his hopes to a combustible businessman who last week denied him the vice presidential nomination.
Hillary Clinton is mocking the rollout of the Republican National Convention.
The convention also has been marred by protests from anti-Trump delegates and a controversy over a speech by Trump’s wife, Melania, that included a section that was strikingly similar to a portion of the speech given by Michelle Obama at the Democratic convention in 2008 when her husband, Barack Obama, was seeking his first term as president. “It is our obligation to stop Hillary Clinton now and never let her within ten miles of the White House again”.
Based on these reports, we rate Christie’s statement as true. “It is time to get together and make sure Donald Trump is the next president of the United States”.
The governor of New Jersey is in an ambivalent position: He has the ear of the Republican nominee and is a powerful force in his campaign. His reputation has sunk in New Jersey, where he has an all-time low approval rating of 26%.
We have a man who is unafraid.
“Today has been a very, very special day watching my children put me over the top”, he said, addressing the convention for the second day in a row, this time live via video from New York City that opened with a scene of Trump Tower.
“We didn’t disqualify Hillary Clinton to be president of the United States, the facts of her life and career disqualifies her”, Christie said.
“If we can’t trust her to tell us the truth, how can we possibly trust her to lead America?” he asked, accusing her of lying about Benghazi and backing a failed policy of “peace through withdrawal”, leading to the rise of Islamic State and terrorist attacks around the globe. He listed what he called foreign policy failures, pointing to the detente with Cuba and faltered relations with Russian Federation.
The FBI Director said that was untrue.
That prompted Republicans in the audience to break into a chant of “lock her up, lock her up, lock her up”.

Christie’s speech was a markedly different speech from the one Christie delivered to the Republican convention in August 2012, when he barely mentioned then-presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney and paved the way to a future presidential bid.
The theme of Tuesday evening was “Make America Work Again”, but was dominated by the attacks on Clinton’s credibility.
Trump’s campaign did succeed in tamping down late efforts by dissident delegates to derail the convention, including during Tuesday’s roll call vote. Delegates gave him credit for his handling of New Jersey’s pension reform and his support of Trump.
Now in his second term as the governor of New Jersey, Christie previously served as the U.S. Attorney to New Jersey.
“My dad is a natural born encourager, the last person to ever tell you to lower your sights”, she said. Mukasey is now a member of the burgeoning movement of Republicans Against Trump for Trump.
Christie’s own supporters from his delegation tacitly recognized their governor’s new role.
Donald Trump, as we all know by now, understood the Republican Party’s voters better than the Republican elites did.

“In writing her attractive speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking”, Jason Miller, Trump’s senior communications advisor, said in a statement.
