Rescued Chibok girl to meet President Buhari

The young woman was rescued by a vigilante group, who handed her over to the military, Allen Manasseh, a spokesman for the Chibok community, told dpa on Wednesday. “The moment this girl was discovered by our vigilantes, she was brought to my house”.

“She was saying all the Chibok girls are still there in the Sambisa except six of them that have already died”.

Amina’s uncle, Yakubu Nkeki, said she had been brought to Chibok on Tuesday night after she was found, and had been reunited with her mother.

The man Mohammed Hayatu, claiming to be her husband also told that he too was abducted by Boko Haram from the town of Mubi and was taken to Sambisa Forest where he married Nkeki.

Tsambido Hosea Abana, a Chibok community leader in the capital, Abuja, from the BringBackOurGirls pressure group, was the first to give details about the discovery.

She arrived on Thursday at the presidential villa in Abuja to meet President Buhari.

She was located along with a four month old baby near Damboa, in the remote northeast, close to Sambisa forest and not far from the border with Cameroon. Confirming the development, the Nigerian military said in a text message by Colonel SK Usman to SaharaReporters that she was rescued by Nigerian troops.
