In a visit to Ichilov Hospital, where some of the injured are being treated, MK Ayman Odeh (Joint List), said that those hurt came “from all parts of society”, including Jews and Arabs.

Multiple people are feared dead after a building collapsed when a crane crashed into it earlier today.

Construction for the 17,000 square meter, four-level lot began in November 2014, and the project was slated for completion by the beginning of 2017. There are several workers who worked on the site but are nowhere to be found at the moment, police said, without specifying their number.

Twenty-eight laborers were killed in the first half of the year, 16 of whom were construction workers.

Police announced hours after the structure came down that four people were still missing, saying that they may be trapped under rubble at the site of the multi-floor vehicle park.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site last night to inspect the search operations.

Search-and-rescue teams from the Israeli military were called in to help dig out people stuck under the rubble in the Ramat Hachayal neighborhood.

Some 480 workers were killed between 2000 and 2015 in Israel, statistics show.
