Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Review
Will there be a port of Resident Evil 7, the details of the Season Pass were unveiled last week, arriving on the Nintendo Switch?

He also describes how the creation of a bespoke engine for the game has made this style change possible, commenting that it enables them to “create visuals that look photo-realistic and get [a] good performance”. But survival horror is a crowded space in 2017, and too much of what Resident Evil 7 is up to we’ve seen elsewhere – and done better.
Unfortunately, those who plan on getting the Nintendo Switch may be disappointed as Capcom will not be bringing their zombie franchise to the new console. So, if you were looking for a cooperative experience to play with some friends, Resident Evil 7 may not be the right title for you. The combat is weighty, visceral, and satisfying, but ammo is scarce and enemies take a lot of punishment, so you need to be careful. There are also the other members of the Baker family, seen through the fantastically eerie VHS tapes that you can pick up.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be available on all three major platforms – Sony’s PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s Xbox One, and Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. Certain areas of the house are locked off until you find particular keys or items to access them, but there’s an Alien: Isolation-esque sense of dynamism to how characters move around the world in order to find/attack/eviscerate you, and the game’s pace is excellent.
That said, Resident Evil 7’s virtual reality mode is entirely optional for players.
Definitely. We wanted to have a more focused approach this time around. Now we do know Capcom has said it is potentially interested in making games for the Nintendo Switch; however, it doesn’t look like the Resident Evil series is among them, at least not yet.
So you’re probably wondering where our review is. But after playing dozens of VR games this past year (while I’ve been testing VR-ready PCs in the CNET labs), I can safely say horror VR games are not for me.

Previously, the download size of Resident Evil 7 was revealed, and it is not so massive as would be expected. The first is the producer of the game, while the second has directed its design. Had Capcom developed the experience more purely around the latter, I’ll wager we’d be having a different conversation.
