It’s also mentioned that the dialogue will contain some swearing and some pretty grisly cutscenes, including a few where characters lose limbs and one where a character is impaled through the face with a shovel.

Resident Evil VII’s ESRB Rating Summary is as follows. We already know that Resident Evil 7 is set in a spooky Louisiana plantation and that the player perspective has moved to first-person, but now we have some of the specifics about what’s going down on that plantation.

The game’s summary on the ESRB rating tells us more about the game than Capcom has shown thus far. We have seen trailers and demos, but we they have been more of running away and exploring simulators.

In Resident Evil 7, players will assume the role of a character named Ethan, the game’s Entertainment Association Rating Board description reveals.

According to the ESRB rating, we will be using shotguns, pistols. flamethrowers, explosives and chainsaws to kill mutant creatures.

Unsurprisingly, that means players should expect no shortage of gore and “intense” violence, with some areas showing mutilated corpses with exposed organs. Both the free to download demo of the game for PS4 and a second demo that recently made the rounds at various press events fail to include combat, so it’s nice to get a more concrete explanation for what options will be available to players when it comes to fighting off the undead, or as the ESRB describes, “mutant creatures”.
