Chris will be making his CGI movie debut in Vendetta, but I gotta say, his character model is looking a little bit weird here. With that in mind, here is a new Japanese trailer that clearly demonstrates that Capcom hasn’t forgotten how to scare people and recalls what made the first game in the series so awesome. The film, which takes place between the events of Resident Evil6 and the upcoming Resident Evil 7, will be released in Japan in the spring of 2017. Furthermore, The Grudge creator Takashi Shimizu is the project’s executive producer, while long-time Resident Evil developer Hiroyuki Kobayashi will be taking on the role of Vendetta’s executive supervisor. However, there have been statements that the film is inspired by the first video game within the Resident Evil franchise. After having brought in Alex in Resident Evil: Revelations 2, it would come as no surprise if we were to meet more of the family, so to speak. The movie will premiere in January 2017 – in time for “Resident Evil 7’s” global release.
