Esteban Gutierrez says he’s been surprised by the performance of new team Haas and how quickly he’s adapted to life with the Ferrari-powered VF16 after a year out of action.
“We’re a new team, so we looked at what the successful teams were doing to give us a baseline of the direction we needed to go with our design”, added Steiner. Haas also talked earlier about why he based the team in Kannapolis and hinted at the possibility of expansion.
“We wanted to do more laps, but you do the best you can”, he said.
