Results day celebrations for Doncaster students

Also 100% of the College’s BTEC students passed their courses and for the second year running all students studying BTEC Business (both the extended diploma and subsidiary diploma) and BTEC IT (extended diploma) achieved distinction* or distinction grades (equivalent to A* and A at A Level). Every student entered for Sport BTEC achieved either Distinction or Distinction*.

Ryan Pringle (ex- Uffculme School) was one of three students at the College to achieve the best results – an awesome 4 A* grades in Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics.

“We are really pleased for our students and proud of their achievements and thrilled to see so many achieve their first choice university place”.

78 per cent of grades were between an A* and a C, with 21 per cent of these coming in at A* or *.

Bristol University said places were being filled very quickly, adding that the newly competitive environment meant that “like all universities, we make use of clearing in ways that we wouldn’t have a few years ago”.

“Dedicated staff have worked tirelessly to support these hard-working students and it’s great that all that combined effort has paid off”.

A2 and AS students from The Webber Independent School are rejoicing, having received an impressive best ever set of A-Level grades yesterday.

A Belfast student has spoken of her delight at excelling in her A-Level results despite missing more than six weeks of school due to depression. Across the board, over 95% of grades were at A*-B.

Sixth formers who have done better than expected in their A levels could be given the automatic right to switch their university place for a better one, under plans being considered by Ucas.

Assistant head teacher, Sarah Sawyerr, said; “Initial feedback indicates all students applying for university places have been successful”.

17 students were awarded an A* in every subject: nine pupils gained at least 4 A*s and 25 at least 3 A*s. Thank you to the staff at Webber for giving them the best teaching and support possible’.

Principal of Harris Academy Merton, Aisha Samad, said: “We have had some incredible A-level successes this year”.

Christopher Garner (ex-Uffculme School) achieved 2 A* grades in Geography and Maths and an A in Economics and is heading to St Peters College, Oxford to read Philosophy Politics and Economics.

Straight A grades were achieved by Ridgewood pupils Charlotte Green, Jacques Kenyon, Abi Pawlett, Alexander Shaw, Lewis Houghton and Megan Maloney.

“Whilst results do matter of course, and our UCAS average point score of 378 is incredibly encouraging, today is also an important moment to look forward with excitement at the many and varied university courses our students are leaving to join”. There were record numbers of A* grades and almost ¾ of grades were A*-B.
