In 2014, the Scrooge to Santa switch occurred on Cyber Monday, the company found. This is kind of interesting, but also expected.
If you are planning to shop on Black Friday, there is a good chance you will buy something for yourself.
After consumers and retail shop employees nearly lost time for family during Thanksgiving dinner a year ago when they opted to avail of Black Friday deals in retail stores, it seems like several retailers would like to veer away from this trend in 2015.
The figure is even higher for buyers: 52.9 percent of respondents said they expect to make a holiday purchase online, making e-commerce the third most-popular distribution channel after discount stores (55.9 percent) and department stores (55.6 percent). Apparel deals are of interest to 26% and 17% look for toy deals according to the survey of 1,140 participants.
The survey also finds that 47% would like stores to stay closed on Thanksgiving Day. That means headlines are already swirling about when retailers will open their doors for Black Friday and with predictions for how consumer spending will shake out during the winter months.

Other retail chains that already announced that they will be closing on Thanksgiving Thursday include the video game giant GameStop, Staples office supply chain, Half Price Books bookstore chain and well as Mattress Firm.
