Lippincott, of the Jobstown section of Springfield Township, also served as the emergency management coordinator for the Burlington County community, according to NBC 10. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials continue to investigate why the mower erupted in flames.

Authorities say the man burned to death. His former fire company in Springfield Township posted a tribute to him on their website Sunday night.

State Police are assisting the Springfield Township Police Department in a lawn mower accident investigation.

“It’s very shocking”, said Lois Thomas, Lippincott’s neighbor.
