Retirement conference is bittersweet send-off for Peyton Manning
After 18 seasons and two Super Bowl titles, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is retiring.

Manning spent 14 seasons with the Colts before joining the Denver Broncos as a free agent in 2012, and his much-celebrated farewell news conference in Denver concentrated largely on his time with Denver. Even though he played most of his career at the same time as all-time great Tom Brady, Manning still managed to win a record five MVP awards and be a first-team All-Pro selection seven times.
Manning, who wore No. 18 throughout his career, told his farewell press conference: “There’s just something about 18 years”.
He appeared in just 10 regular-season games and posted career lows in passing yards, passer rating and touchdown passes, while his 17 interceptions were the third-most of his career.
From game balls and posters to pictures signed “Love Peyton”, Ray Hand keeps some of his gifts from Manning on display.
Manning played in two of the last three Super Bowls.
Oh well, the close brothers will have plenty of time to catch up now that Peyton retired Monday after an 18-year National Football League career. “Am I wrong for trying to do this?'” Cutcliffe said, according to The Chronicle. “It’s morphing into a whole new world of possibility”. “He was the most incredible player that I’ve ever seen of taking it from the film room to the practice field and then from the practice field to the game”.
“I have such respect for the way Peyton worked, the way he prepared and his unmatched competitiveness”, Gase said. He responded, “I do too Mosley, and that’s what we’re going to try to do”.
He concluded his speech by quoting from 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight and I have finished the race”.
“He’s a Hall of Fame player and a Hall of Fame person, and I wish him all the best in the future. Manning missed the entire 2011 season with the Colts and was cut at the end of the season. For those guys, Manning is football. I’m not interested in re-litigating something that happened when I was 19 years old.

Less than 24 hours before informing the Broncos of his decision to retire, Manning said during an appearance Friday night in Florida that he had no idea what he’ll do in retirement. Broncos CEO/team president Joe Ellis, executive vice president of football operations/general manager John Elway and coach Gary Kubiak all spoke before Manning.
