New England Revolution forward Charlie Davies is in remission after being diagnosed with cancer this past spring, the club announced Saturday.

Now, in a Fox exclusive, it has been revealed that the current New England Revolution player has been battling cancer but is now in remission. All this while Davies found out about his diagnosis and receiving treatment. Davies resumed training on July 13 but has yet to appear in a match since then for the Revolution.
This is not the first hardship Davies has endured a in his career. He previously missed a year of soccer while recovering from a vehicle accident in 2009.
The injuries sustained in the crash, which killed another passenger in the auto, resulted in Davies missing the 2010 World Cup and more than a year of club games.
“The New England Revolution will continue to support him through full recovery and are looking forward to seeing him back out on the pitch”, the team said in a statement. He has not played since for the US national team.

Davies also dealt with the premature birth of his twin sons, born three months premature they had to spend significant time in NICU before being allowed to go home though all the members of the Davies family are happy and healthy today. However, he is set to open up about everything in a feature on Fox Sports tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. ET.
