The first-year Bills coach won the pregame again this week (he was always much better at that than the actual game in his time with the Jets) by naming IK Enemkpali as a captain for Thursday’s contest in Buffalo. “You don’t have to announce it on Monday for the whole world to know”. Bills coach Rex Ryan likes to have fun when he names team captains, and his trend continues for Thursday’s game against the Jets.
“I’ll get ripped or whatever, but I do this all the time”, said Ryan.
Ryan always chooses his captains based on the opponent, and what city they are from. And once Idzik replaced Mike Tannenbaum, Ryan made it even less about himself.
This week the Bills play the Jets.
It’s Rex Ryan’s return to the place where he became one of the NFL’s biggest headline-makers with his showman style and brash and bold approach.
He has kept with this tradition this season, making former Miami Dolphin Richie Incognito a captain in both of the Bills’ games against the South Florida team.
