Rex wasn’t at owners-players meetings before Roman’s firing

The Buffalo Bills fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman on Friday in a bid to kick start their sputtering Tyrod Taylor-led attack. The next it’s their defense.

The Buffalo Bills have fired Greg Roman two games into his second season. If the offense regresses under new offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn and the defense continues to play uninspired, Rex could very well find himself without a job before the season’s end. “It looked like a mismatch”.

“Certainly the defense has to improve”, Ryan said.

On the Jets next offensive series, the Jets’ Jalin Marshall fumbled and Nickell Robey-Coleman recovered it and ran it in for the touchdown.

Let’s assume his work as offensive coordinator was their biggest problem in a 0-2 start.

Wasn’t that Richie Incognito, whose return from football exile benefited from his role in Roman’s offense a year ago, talking about “communication” issues after the deplorable showing on his side of the ball during the 13-7 loss at Baltimore? And who can they possibly get either through free agency or the draft? Buffalo hosts Arizona on September 25, followed by a game at New England, where the Bills are 1-14 since 2001.

Bowles says left guard James Carpenter (calf) and linebacker Erin Henderson (foot) were still undergoing tests and their status was unknown.

Fitzpatrick threw for 370 yards, and Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker both had more than 100 yards receiving each, while Quincy Enunwa fell 8 yards shy of joining them. We did everything, but to their credit, it never mattered what we played because they were the better team.

I am not one of those people. “This is Day 1 training camp stuff that we shouldn’t be busting, and we have to make sure we correct that”.

The Jets (1-1) snapped a five-game skid against Buffalo, which included a 22-17 season-ending loss in January that eliminated NY from the playoffs.

NY came back again with Enunwa once again catching a Fitzpatrick pass for a first down.

You can hear the clock ticking in Buffalo, even if the Bills’ offense didn’t act like it while running the NFL’s slowest 2-minute drill Thursday night.

“I believe in the guys in the system and I believe in the guys in this locker room”, Incognito said. We’ll keep you updated. Decker led NY with six catches for 126 yards and a touchdown, while Marshall had six catches for 101 yards. “Sometimes it’s tough, sometimes they’re put in some tough situations, but I think they’ll bounce back”.

The head coach went on to explain his reasoning for making the move. JP Losman was the last to do that in 2006.

After Buffalo got penalized for having 12 men on the field, the Jets’ Matt Forte ran it in for the touchdown putting the Jets ahead 27 – 24.
