NY scored in every inning from the fourth through the eighth, spraying key hits like Fourth of July fireworks to beat the Marlins 8-6 Monday and extend their winning streak to five games.
Reyes was suspended for the first two months of the season, losing $6.25 million in the process, for violating its domestic abuse policy, despite a judge in Hawaii formally dropping a domestic abuse charge in April, after Reyes’ wife declined to cooperate with prosecutors.

After Monday’s 8-6 comeback win over Miami, the Mets said Reyes was headed to NY following a minor league assignment with Double-A Binghamton. Manager Terry Collins said the team is considering using Reyes as its center field on occasions. For Reyes, it’s an opportunity to come back to an organization he knows and a fanbase that has been willing to take him back with open arms. “When you go to your house and you go home, it doesn’t matter where you sleep”. This is my home. Everywhere they put me I’m going to be happy.
“That’s the kind of situation that I want to be in”, Reyes said.

“I can still run a little bit”, said Reyes, who added that he’s no longer the type of player who can steal 60 bases in the season. “We’re hoping he continues that”. Flores hit.315 as the starting third baseman after taking over for David Wright, and though he’s in the lineup tonight, he may not be in the lineup all that often against righties.
