As durable a starter as anyone in baseball, Colon is 6-3 this season with a 3.00 ERA, over a run less than last season. He was 4 for 11 with a home run and a double in his first three games and could rejoin the Royals this weekend.

On Tuesday night, Colon was diagnosed with a right thumb bruise, but that x-rays were negative. Joakim Soria was called on in the 5th with 2-outs. Gordon was 3 for 6 with a home run and a double in two rehab games with Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

The Mets picked up a win Wednesday, but it could prove very costly. But with Salvador Perez splayed and blocking the plate, Carbera was about to slide around Perez, avoiding the tag and snagging the plate with his trailing hand, giving the Mets the 1-0 lead.
