RGIII injury taught Raiders QB Derek Carr a valuable lesson

The Oakland Raiders take on Atlanta Falcons today in an NFL football game on the second week of the 2016 schedule. In Game 1, Ryan was sacked three times. They got Atlanta to third-and-3 on the ensuing possession, but wide receiver Mohamed Sanu got open over the middle and caught a 15-yard pass for a first down.

“If you want somebody to blame, blame it on me, ” he said.

While the Raiders have a lot of things they need to fix, I believe they end up coming out victorious against the Falcons.

The Raiders (1-1) allowed the Falcons to score on six of seven drives in one stretch and gave up 528 yards in all as they struggled to stop Atlanta (1-1) on the ground or in the air in a deflating loss. Madden was Stabler’s coach in Oakland, and the rest, with the exception of Haynes, were teammates of Stabler’s with the Raiders. “It sucks. But at the same time, we have to rally back and get the troops ready”.

If opponents had trouble covering Amari Cooper previous year, they better realize things aren’t getting any easier.

Atlanta had a tough time slowing down Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers’ offense last week.

Atlanta will try to outgun the Raiders, and they have some weapons to do it.

“The first two games, 1,000 yards?” defensive end Khalil Mack asked, somewhat incredulous. The Falcons must improve their pass rush somehow or they will be destined to repeat what they went through last season. However, the Jets woke up on Thursday night, and put on a much more explosive display. In last meeting, Carson Palmer threw for 353 yards and the Raiders controlled the ball for 36:26 to 23:34 for the Falcons, but Asante Samuel returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown for the Falcons. Amari Cooper was quiet (four catches, 55 yards), except for a fantastic 25-yard aerial grab in the second quarter. 6. He did give the Jets a scare in the second quarter when he went down with a knee injury. Marshall was down on the field for several minutes.

“I think those types of things or discussions are not really part of this wrap-up right now today”, Del Rio said. “It’s not arrogant, it’s not that we think we’re better than anybody”.

Appearing on KGMZ-FM in San Francisco, Raiders linebacker Bruce Irvin said he told Carr it was a great play but never to attempt such heroics again. You love for a guy like that to be protecting you. Therefore, that 49 is looking pretty good for an over.

Oakland faces a team led by a smart but declining QB in Matt Ryan, yet despite this, I fully expect him to target star wideout Julio Jones early and often, opening up lanes for a potentially risky rushing attack led by Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. “But then, when he stepped back in the huddle later on, it was a big surprise, but relief as well”.

“Black Jack” Del Rio was at it again on Sunday afternoon, as the Oakland Raiders head coach chose to go for it on fourth-and-goal with 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter for a chance to tie their Week 2 matchuo with the Atlanta Falcons at 21 points apiece.
