Many fans will be making the good point that all of this is only possible should Garde’s men beat Wycombe in the replay at Villa Park, with Micah Richards’ goal at the weekend not enough to send them through.

Garde’s side host Crystal Palace at Villa Park in Tuesday night’s Premier League clash, with the former Arsenal defender warning his players no one will gift them a confidence boost.
According to The Mirror, fans who had made the 230-mile round trip waited outside the ground after the final whistle and greeted the squad with “a barrage of foul-mouthed abuse”.
Richards was approached by a small number of the Villa fans in a heated debate after the game questioning the passion of the side.
“I can understand the fans”.
Rémi Garde, the Villa manager, is growing increasingly frustrated and demanding new signings after yet another bleak afternoon, with his team stumbling to a draw with League Two club Wycombe Wanderers. “We have to be professional to face our responsibility and to try to do more”. A share of the spoils at Villa Park, which would be Garde’s first point in three matches in the league, is being offered at 11/5 with the leading sports betting website.
“I don’t know exactly how bad it is”, the Frenchman added.
‘They also care about the project that we present to them.
Remi Garde took over a team in free fall and things havent gotten any better for Villa. “It’s important and I hope I will achieve that, I don’t know yet”.
“But in 35 years in football, I’ve been through this kind of situation as a player”. I know that it is based on the fact that Villa must win but I just think they wont have the quality to get the job done here.
“The maіn thіng from the fans’ poіnt of vіew іs that they want to see the players goіng out there fіghtіng for the cause of the club and they have got every rіght to express theіr feelіngs”.
The Midlands club now sit at the bottom of the Premier League table and Garde has confessed there is no quick fix to Villa’s woes.
Wycombe striker Thompson missed the target despite Villa freezing after an initial clearing header from Jacobson’s fifth-minute corner.

“I warned the players at half-time that we had to keep the level otherwise they would find a way back in, so I don’t know why we didn’t manage to keep that up”.
