Richards mourns with, rallies Planned Parenthood supporters
In light of the shooting at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood that killed three people and injured nine others on November 27, Planned Parenthood affiliates across the nation hosted events for a National Day of Solidarity on Saturday. And this week, fourteen people were murdered during an employee holiday party in the town of San Bernadino, California.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these bad tragedies, and we are resolved to stop this from happening again”, said Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
One of those took place Sunday at the Planned Parenthood in Nashville where the vigil wrapped up shortly after 5 p.m.
Richards drew loud applause when she said it was time to end violence against women and the doctors and other health care workers who care for them.
Supporters are convinced there’s a link between anti-Planned Parenthood commentary and the violence in Colorado Springs. “Enough is enough”, Richards said. Bernie Sanders tweeted, “In these hard times, against vitriolic Republican rhetoric, we must protect a woman’s right to choose”.
On the Capital Region Day of Solidarity, they will be standing together in unity against attacks in our communities and show those who oppose us that our DOORS STAY OPEN.
“When you start making it acceptable to say that women’s bodies are not valuable, then people will do whatever they want to and feel okay about doing it”, said Cazembe Jackson.
The organization is showing their support for the black, refugee and transgender communities as well.

But in the wake of the deadly shootout last week at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, clinics nationwide are redoubling security efforts, checking surveillance cameras and reviewing evacuation plans.
