LSU held their first practice of bowl week followed by the annual “Rodeo Bowl” competition, as activities for the AdvoCare Texas Bowl got off to a quick start Saturday. “He has a feel for where the ball is coming off. Fournette might not have won the Heisman, but he reminded the universe why he might just be the best running back in the country with his deconstruction of Texas Tech on Tuesday. He ran for 212 yards, accumulated 256 total yards (a Texas Bowl record) and shattered LSU’s single-season record for rushing touchdowns. Harris hit Dupre for an 11-yard completion before Fournette bulldozed in from the 2-yard line for a touchdown and 7-0 lead with 11:47 to go in the opening period.
