The victim, a 24-year-old man, was parked on Clement Street near 24 Avenue and smoking a cigarette outside his auto around 3 a.m. when he was approached by a man holding a backpack in front of his chest, police said.

The victim ran away and three suspects got in the vehicle, police said.

SFPD dispatch put out the vehicle description, and officers on duty were able to locate the vehicle.

Shortly after it was reported, officers spotted the vehicle and initiated a pursuit, which ended with the auto crashing into a lightpole and parking metere near 2nd and Kind streets right across the street from the Giants ballpark.

That pursuit ended, Manfredi says, when “the vehicle then crashed into a light pole and parking meter on 2nd and King Street”, which is right in front of AT&T Park.

Two suspects remained in the vehicle, while a third tried to flee on foot.

All three of the suspects were transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash, Manfredi says. Tipster Jordan C. sent photos, and tipster Kevin C. said that about 60 cops were on scene at the crash site around 4am.
