Trump attended fundraisers created to help former rival Chris Christie and the state Republican Party pay down debt they incurred during the governor’s presidential campaign and the party’s legal bills from the George Washington Bridge scandal. Among their major tasks is choosing delegates to the national convention and hammering out a platform.

Trump, who has said he wants the convention to have a “showbiz” feel and dismissed the 2012 convention as “boring”, is still planning to unveil his running mate during the four-day festivities, a move that already adds an element of suspense absent from recent conservative confabs.
It is no way the Republican Party is ready to unite under Trump who’s at the top of the GOP ticket.

Conservatives for Candidates of Character plans to propose a motion that will prohibit the Minnesota GOP from using any money to help the Trump campaign – a “prohibition on GOP expenditures”, as it says – with things like paying field staffers, Giese explained.
Downey said Trump’s relatively weak caucus showing in Minnesota could produce a lot of uncertainty.

I believe that Barack Obama won because Democrats had a 5 percent or 6 percent advantage in party identification over Republicans and both parties basically held serve with those party identifiers.
