Rick Perry thinks allowing guns in movie theaters would stop shootings

The recent theater massacre in Lafayette, Louisiana, during a showing of Trainwreck spurred a variety of public reactions in its wake.

Like many businesses in the country, the Grand Theatre chain-where two people were killed an nine others were injured after a man opened fire there on Thursday-forbids patrons from carrying firearms at all of its locations. He fired off 20 rounds, shooting some people a couple of times, with one victim suffering four separate wounds. At the end of his shooting spree, Houser turned the gun on himself.

This tragic incident adds fire to the already hot gun-control debate. “We have the laws in place…enforcement of those laws is what seems to be lacking”, Perry said, according to Bloomberg. “We see individuals who are obviously mentally impacted”. There were individuals that I think, somewhere, somebody didn’t do their job in the standpoint of enforcing the laws that are on the books.

“I would suggest that the concept of gun-free zones are a bad idea”, the Republican presidential candidate told CNN. “I think that you allow the citizens of this country, who have appropriately trained, appropriately backgrounded, know how to handle and use firearms, to carry them”.

Perry’s solution to the Lafayette shootings?

“I hope that nobody in America disagrees that people, as in the case of the shooter here in Louisiana, who have a history of mental instability should not be having guns”, Sanders said.

In speaking with CNN on Sunday, Rick Perry said that he believes Americans should be allowed to carry guns to the movies and everywhere else they want to have them.

‘If we consider in the Second Amendment, therefore we believe in people’s power to shield their self and maintain their own selves, and also their households, ‘ said Perry who might determines that when audiences were usually advised to need their own guns inside they may have barred the taking pictures.

“It seems to me that if you have military bases or recruiting offices, these are symbols of American might, they’re targets”, Bush told reporters.

Rick Perry called gun-free zones a “bad idea” in response to last week’s deadly movie theater shooting in Lafayette, La., and said allowing people to bring guns to the movies “makes a lot of sense”.
