Earlier this week it was announced that the BBC show had been bought up by ITV after the BBC stepped down refusing to get into a “bidding war” with the commercial channel.
Whilst it’s not confirmed, ITV is expected to snap up the popular talent contest, although the broadcaster says no deal has yet been made. I do not think ITV would want me.
Ricky has also taken a stance on the expected move from the BBC to ITV saying he thinks the argument surrounding the bidding war is “nonsense because you should always be competing, as that is the only way things get better”. They would want to have a completely new show.’Ricky is the reigning champion of the show after coaching Stevie McCrorie to success within the fourth collection in that led to April.
Falmouth’s Ricky Wilson is quitting The Voice after the next series.
He added: “If I was to go out on my first album then I would be glad it would be with this because I love it and I just hope that everybody else loves it”.
It’s the latest change in a show which recently saw Tom Jones axed and replaced by Boy George.
“If you’re talking about cultural significance, light entertainment is right up there”. It’s a huge part of people’s lives. They don’t want to be force-fed something educational.
But if you can’t wait to see Ricky until the next series of The Voice next year, he’s now fronting Bring The Noise on Sky One on Thursdays.
