At the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards which took place at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden, Beyoncé’s groundbreaking visual album Lemonade won eight Moonmen trophies, including Video of the Year for Formation.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight the source said Drake and Rihanna were “definitely a couple” and added: “They are fully dating”.
‘No one really knows how long they have been “official”, they just made a decision to let it become a thing instead of hiding it from everyone.
The source goes on to claim that at Sunday night’s VMAs afterparty the pair were inseparable.
Right before giving the award, Drake called Rihanna a “living, breathing legend”.
“They walked in together and never left each other’s side all night”, said the source.
While some speculates that the kiss from Drake was a joke (really, after that speech?), it seemed pretty obvious that Rihanna was not happy as she was seen mouthing that it was not amusing. “He was so attentive to her”. “All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her”. His eyes were never off her. Later in the evening, she rocked a gold sequin ensemble as she accepted three awards, including Best Female Video and Best R&B Video for “Crazy in Love”. “I knew it!” The stream of questions was interspersed with a lot of screaming and giggling as they bonded over their mutual love for makeup artist Pat McGrath and her latest lip kit.
Drake also publicly professed his love at the VMAs when presenting the Vanguard award to Rihanna, before the two hugged and possibly kissed (despite the thousands of people recording the moment, no one can really tell).
