Rihanna has ‘a big part’ in Luc Besson’s Valerian adaptation
Instead, I ask that you recall Rihanna’s latest cinematic achievement “Bitch Better Have My Money”. Though Rihanna’s role remains unknown, it has been confirmed that DeHaan and Delevingne are playing lead characters Valerian and Laureline, a pair of time-travelling space agents who help to defend a utopian future Earth. To put it bluntly – it was fucking glorious.

Rihanna will return to the big screen in Luc Besson’s upcoming epic “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”, the director announced today, although he didn’t share what her role in the film will be exactly. The director took to his Instagram to make the formal announcement, and while he didn’t divulge in any particulars, he did say she has a big part in the film.
Dane DeHaan (“Chronicle”, “The unbelievable Spider-Man 2”) will play Valerian, while Cara Delevingne (“Paper Towns”) has been cast as Laureline.

Besson has been keeping his fans as up to date on the project as possible. Besson’s work on 1997’s The Fifth Element was deeply inspired by the comic’s storylines, concepts, and designs. The film is scheduled to begin filming in France at the start of the new year, the film itself is scheduled to hit theaters on July 21, 2017.
