Rio 2016: Athletes warned of lurking alligators looking to gatecrash Games

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 2 (IANS) The American National Basketball League stars who will play at the Olympics will not be housed in the Games Village, like other athletes, but rather on board a luxury cruise ship that docked on the weekend at the city’s port here.

The AP’s survey of the aquatic Olympic and Paralympic venues has revealed consistent and dangerously high levels of viruses from the pollution, a major black eye on Rio’s Olympic project that has set off alarm bells among sailors, rowers and open-water swimmers.
