Rio 2016: Diving champ Daniel Goodfellow tells mum to stay off Twitter
THE family of South Devon diver Tom Daley have shared their pride after watching his latest Olympic success.

Divers Tom Daley and Daniel Goodfellow from Great Britain earned the third position in the men’s synchronized 10 meter event at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Tom, 22, lost his father Robert to brain cancer in 2011 – a year before he grabbed his first bronze at the London Olympics.
Goodfellow, from Cambridge, had moved into Daley’s London home for five weeks in the build-up to the Rio Games to try to solidify their partnership on and off the boards.
The achievement makes them the first British pair to win a medal in this event at the Olympics since Leon Taylor and Pete Waterfield in Athens 12 years ago.
“Going into that Olympic final last night was one of the most insane experiences”.
Ms Selvester added: “I want to congratulate the coach who chose to pair them together”.
The pair were third after the first three of six dives, but their fourth dive, a reverse three and a half somersaults with tuck scored 81.60 as they slipped to fifth.
We’ve been told the green water is completely safe.
He said: “I’d probably just tell my mum to stay off Twitter”. There is nothing you can do to change what you’ve done.
“It was an agonising wait that felt like it was an eternity”, Daley added.
“We have seen them dive together before and we knew they were quite good. It’s just standing out there really and doing what I know I’m doing and just trying to enjoy every moment, which has led me to this now”. We are just so pleased he got the bronze.
“I am ready for it”.
The pair only began training together last October, but were tipped for a medal after collecting the silver in the European championships in May, with Daley finally winning a medal in this even after finishing fourth in London and last in Beijing, where the then 14-year-old had a well-publicised falling out with partner Blake Aldridge. “I accepted that, tried to block everything else out and focus on my diving”.
“I hope their success will inspire many more of the UK’s world class team to fulfil their potential and bring home a medal, just as all those who are competing for the United Kingdom in Rio are an inspiration to many more youngsters back home”.
Tom is set to dive again in the men’s individual 10 metre platform on Friday 19 August.
He said: “I think he wants to come back to the farm and he wants to come back to the family. Instead of shying away from it you’ve got to accept it and you’re going to have to deal with that”.
Earlier this year, Daley credited Black as the reason he’s still diving.

“I will be going into the individual event giving it my best shot”, the Briton said.
