RIO 2016: Dunham’s silver helps Great Britain to para-dressage gold

And Hannah Russell’s victory in the S12 100 metres backstroke in the swimming pool took Britain above the total number of golds won eight years ago in China.

“Ejike first broke the Paralympic record by lifting 136kg before subsequently adding lifts of 138kg and 142kg to seal the world record and hand Nigeria with their third gold medal of the Games”, reports United Kingdom media, Independent.

Abdellatif Baka of Algeria stormed to gold in a world-record time of 3:48.29, followed by Tamiru Demisse of Ethiopia with silver and Henry Kirwa of Kenya with bronze.

Great Britain have won 31 golds at the Games so far. However, the Wicklow woman topped the World Series table this year with two Road Race silver medals at World Cups events in Ostend and South Africa so will be expecting better today.
