“It felt like a dream”.

“I went there without any expectations, so to win two golds was just incredible, and then I thought, ‘How on earth am I going to top that?’ We believed in ourselves, and in our team”.
As the 24-year-old ticked off the 100 laps without incident, picking up early sprint points for insurance, the real battle was for silver between American veteran Sarah Hammer and Belgium’s Jolien D’Hoore.
And Jack Laugher won his second medal of the Rio Olympics with silver in the three metres springboard.
“I’m so happy it all came together and I want to thank all the people back home you don’t see behind the scenes”.
Every member of Britain’s track cycling team won a medal, as the team left the Rio Velodrome with six golds, four silvers and a bronze.
Pringle, a cross between an English springer spaniel and a poodle, is named after the Lee Valley Velodrome, formerly known as the Olympic Velodrome, where Kenny and Trott won two gold medals.
Kenny had a brilliant final bend as he was able to overcome the tension to complete a hugely rewarding night for Britain’s cyclists as his fiance Laura Trott won gold once again, before Becky James and Katy Marchant won silver and bronze respectively in the women’s sprint.
Kenny came storming through on the final lap to snatch the victory, and a record sixth gold, in a thrilling conclusion to a dramatic event.
Trott, who won team pursuit gold on Saturday, took a commanding advantage into Tuesday’s points race, which concluded the six-discipline omnium.
Sir Chris Hoy told BBC Sport: “That was a test of character”.
Vogel, who took gold in the team pursuit in London, now has two medals in these Olympics as Germany took bronze in the team sprint.
Men’s sprint champion Jason Kenny is also on course in the keirin having reached the semi-finals by comfortably winning his heat.
Great Britain’s Laura Trott had a sizeable lead entering the final event of the omnium and she easily held on to win to the gold.

But despite being described as “the golden couple” of the Olympics, Kenny says he’s looking forward to getting back to reality at home with his dogs. “What I love to do is help others, and that’s probably what I will be doing”.
