Rio Olympics 2016: Actor Matthew McConaughey attends women’s sevens as U.S. fan

The star actor was seen with his wife Camila Alves having lunch this past Tuesday in Rio and then walking on Arpoador Beach.
But now we’re bringing in the big guns for some real Olympic fun, because Matthew McConaughey has been hanging in Rio and supporting the good old USA of A.
Actor Matthew McConaughey meets NZ Women’s Rugby Sevens player Sarah at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
He also recorded a message for the athletes before the night of glory, stating, “Go Team U.S.A”.
The sports fan recently revealed he might be the only member of his family rooting for Team USA – he recently told America’s Today show, “I’ll be cheering for Team USA. It’s obviously very festive; once you get into the game or event, getting to and from is not the easiest thing, but once the party is started you are not going to throw a better one than Brazil”.

The USA women’s sevens side qualified for the quarter-finals of the Olympics as one of the two third-placed qualifiers in their group, but just fell short to the New Zealand women’s side 5-0 after a Portia Woodman try.
