Jade Jones claimed a gold medal in taekwondo after defeating Spain’s Eva Calvo Gomez 16-7 in the final on day 13 of the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Jones, who was still a teenager when she clinched the Olympic title at London 2012, reached the last eight with a 12-4 win over Naima Bakkal of Morocco.
The Brit was caught off-guard shortly after as Gomez landed a head kick to reduce the gap to a single point.
Two head kicks in quick succession in the first round saw Jones race into an early 6-0 lead.
While Mayu Hamada, the world champion, was knocked out in the quarter-finals, Jones was rarely threatened as she reeled off three straight victories.

Asemani clawed back a couple of points as Jones was clearly saving herself for her semi-final against Nikita Glasnovic of Sweden.
