Of course, a major component of Google’s Olympics efforts this year will come from YouTube, which has partnered with broadcasters in 60 countries, including the BBC, América Móvil, and NHK.

Google can now tell you the national medal count, who won a particular competition, and the schedule of events. You can even use Google apps to explore Rio and the various venues holding events.

“And as an added bonus, YouTube is sending 15 top creators to Rio, giving you a taste of what it’s like to be there with mobile live streaming”.

Make sure you have the latest version of Google Maps for Android or iOS installed on your device. That’ll likely happen on Friday, when the opening ceremony is scheduled to take place. While various points of interest like ATMs, restrooms, information desks, concessions, etc. are highlighted on the indoor map allowing you to get around easily.

In addition to the indoor maps and advanced outdoor maps, Google Street View also features various landmarks and highlights around Rio de Janeiro. Facebook Live content will include interviews with NBC Olympics commentators and athletes.
