Rio Olympics 2016: Laura Trott ‘frustrated’ by questioning of British success

Team GB once again dominated at the Velodrome with six golds, four silvers and one bronze – a performance in contrast to numerous team’s displays at major championships since the last Olympics in London. “It’s all about the Olympics”.
She was joined by fellow stars Phillip Hindes, who won gold in the Men’s Team Sprint and Katy Marchant, who claimed a bronze medal in the Women’s Sprint.
The 24-year-old, who a week ago today became Great Britain’s most successful ever female Olympian as she claimed her fourth gold medal of her career, told BBC 5 Live: “It is a little bit frustrating because there’s a lot of hard work gone into that performance”.
Both riders admit to being stunned by the reception they have received since coming home.
She went on to confirm that she would take Jason’s surname when they get married.
Trott said she was enjoying being back with the dogs after almost two months away, telling the BBC: ‘Out in Rio, it felt like we were in a Big Brother house.
Starting a family is also in the pipeline, although Trott says that is not in the plans before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
In the interview they were asked about their plans for marriage and kids following Laura’s tweet last week saying, ‘Our kids have to get some of these genes right?!’
Trott added: ‘I’m sort of regretting tweeting that now, at the time I thought it was amusing and now everybody’s like “are you having kids?”
“We would like kids obviously but when that happens I don’t know”.
‘But like Laura said it’s been really special since we got home – just been trying to soak it in as much as possible and enjoy it all really’.

When the subject of kids came up she said, “not before the next Olympics”.
