The only other gymnast to serve as an Olympic flag bearer was Alfred Jochim, who did so at the Berlin 1936 Games’ Opening Ceremonies.

Even before her performance at Rio, Biles was widely recognized as one of the world’s best gymnasts, having won 10 World Championships titles since 2013.

On the August 19 edition of “CBS This Morning”, gymnast Simone Biles talks about life after winning five medals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

An ebullient President Obama took to Twitter to congratulate Team USA as the 2016 Rio Olympics came to a close on Sunday night. She also won a bronze on balance beam.

Biles is the most decorated USA female gymnast of all-time with 14 world championships. “This experience has been the dream of a lifetime”.

Biles’ five Olympic medals tied Mary Lou Retton (1984), Shannon Miller (1992) and Nastia Liukin (2008) for the most medals in a single Olympics by an American gymnast. Now 31 years old, Phelps says that the Rio Olympics are definitely his last.

She added, “I also wish to thank the city of Rio de Janeiro, and the entire country of Brazil, for hosting an incredible Games”.
