Rio Olympics: Watch The US Women’s Soccer…
DK United Coach Jacquie Hertlein says her team has high hopes for a good Olympic finish this year, especially after a two-nil win Wednesday over Australia. Following the USWNT victory on Wednesday night, France put four goals past Colombia to take pole position in Group G on goal difference. The U.S. beat France 1-0 back in March in the SheBelieves Cup but lost 2-0 to the same side in February.

The U.S., the top ranked team in the world, and France, ranked third, are considered two of the gold medal favorites at the Olympics.
Highlighted by goals from Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan, the match averaged a.77 rating on NBCSN – up 93 percent from the women’s soccer opener in 2012 (.40).
Playing in Rio Saturday will be hosts Brazil, who face Sweden in the second game of a doubleheader at the Olympic Stadium. USA-France is the teams’ second of three preliminary round games, and most expect the victor of Group G to emerge from this contest.
Then in the 17th minute, Carli Lloyd came on for the U.S.as a substitute for an injured Shannon Boxx.
If they win gold in Rio, they’ll also make history, becoming the first female team to win the World Cup and Olympic gold back to back.
Expect the intensity of a knockout stage match as both the US and France are familiar with one another.
Saturday marks the second day of competition in women’s soccer, and the showcase match includes the United States.
