Rise To Power. Executive Leaders And How They Are Made
Ever since the dawn of time, people have confided their lives, hopes and dreams into the hands of certain ‘transcendental entities’ who are much stronger, smarter and wiser than themselves. In exchange those ‘higher beings’ offer their protection and guidance against the perils of the world. That is how kings are made; that is how gods are born. Every living thing on this planet needs someone or something stronger than it is, to believe in them, to pledge to them its very existence. Someone who would act when the need arises and would give his very life and soul to protect what is precious to him.

It is unfathomable for anyone in such position to claim superiority over others as means for getting rich. The decision to lead and guide people must be made only by those, who understand the true extent of their limitations, and are even willing sacrifice profits in order to sustain the people. A true leader is someone who cares more about others than he does about himself.
“Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness.”
-Napoleon Hill
The Self Made Man
The only way one can truly appreciate the gift of power is by earning it through sweat, blood and backbreaking work. Almost all great corporate leaders of today have attained their position by being the first, the strongest and the smartest of all others that came before and after. The universal truth behind the success of any executive leader, can be found in the notion that ‘not all men are created equal’.
Each and every little brick, making up the bridge which leads to success, represents a person whose dream had been shattered; either by causality or by their own incompetence. For you to walk all the way across the pond , you must build your bridge out of the broken dreams of those that came before you. And this requires a tremendous amount of determination and self-discipline, but even then you cannot be certain, that someone else wont eventually come along, and builds his bridge out of your dream.
In the corporate world, there is neither good nor evil, and every man is responsible for his own non-accomplishments. If you fail to embrace this simple truth, you would be eaten alive by those who do . If you wish to be an executive leader, you must focus all your attention into crushing the competition, by any means necessary. Co-worker ethics and occupation related friendships have no use for someone who is trying to rise above the heard and establish himself as the Chief in Command.
This is not an act of selfishness, for you are yet to attain the support and approval of the people you would be in charge of. You have yet to gain the responsibility to look after your flock. Remember, power can only be given, it could never be taken by force. Even if you somehow manage to get to power, you would soon find out that it is impossible to keep up the act if you don’t know the fundamentals of being a great leader.
Awareness
If all the people working in a company are represented as cogs in a machine; moving together towards achieving a certain goal, then you as the engine must learn everything that is to know about the inner working of that machine. Nothing should be able to escape your gaze, and you should be on top of every little project that is being done; past, present and future.
