Rita Repulsa Sure Looks Different In The New ‘Power Rangers’ Movie
Her headgear is a little lighter and more elegantly created to present a more whimsical take on the look, for example. As Beast once said in X-Men, “Can’t wait to see the suits”.

“It’s definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa”, Banks says to People.
“I’ve never played a villain before”, the actress told People. What’s she most looking forward to?
If form follows function, then we can probably make one pretty clear assumption based on this outfit: Rita Repulsa is going to fight. Indeed, with tied-back green hair, wearing what appears to be a green plant-themed dress, she appears to have been pilfered the boudoir of Batman nemesis Poison Ivy (just to get that obvious comparison out of the way).
The villain is getting a major makeover for the upcoming “Power Rangers” reboot. Even though it’s much different from the TV show and big screen adaptation from 1995, it still doesn’t feel like anything we haven’t seen before elsewhere in the sci-fi genre.
Evidently, it’s not just a group of superhuman teenagers that are morphing in the forthcoming Power Rangers reboot. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

Power Rangers lands in theaters March 24, 2017, and also stars Becky G, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin and Dacre Montgomery as Trini, Billy, Kimberly, Zack and Jason, respectively.
