Starring Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri and Dharmesh Yelande, “Banjo” traces the story of a street musician who meets an NRI-DJ from NY and their trials of breaking through mainstream record labels.
Evident from the trailer, the film revolves around the struggles of a band of banjo players headed by Riteish who earn their living by performing at Ganesh Utsav processions but are never recognized as respectable musicians. The trailer also shows some romantic moments between Riteish and Nargis. They are discovered by a record executive from NY (played by Nargis Fakhri) whose boss isn’t too keen on her idea of letting street music enter the recording studio but those very street musicians turn the tables around. How? His look is not less than that of a rockstar.
Riteish Deshmukh has not had a solo hero film in Bollywood for quite a while. Also, the background music of the film complements the mood of the film.

The music has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar who earlier scored for Ravi Jadhav’s critically acclaimed Marathi film Balak Palak. The film releases on 23 September, while if you are still to catch the same, the following are the trailer of Banjo.
