The photos of three, bullet-riddled bodies, abandoned in an apple orchard went viral on social networking sites in the Valley on Monday. A police spokesman said that they are investigating the incident.
All the three Amir Reshi, Ashiq Ahmed and Naveed were affiliated with Hizbul Mujhadeen.
Kashmir’s biggest rebel group, Hizbul Mujahideen, said the men were its cadres and accused the police counterinsurgency force of torturing and later killing them in custody. The paid agents of India and counter insurgent SOG are responsible for the cold blooded murder of these militants.
Police said the youths were murdered because of a rivalry between the Hizbul Mujahideen and the breakaway outfit headed by wanted militant commander Qayoom Najar.
Lashkar-e-Islami has no existence. “Therefore by calling it a war between Hizb and Lashkar-e-Islam, the government agencies and the puppet government can’t befool anybody”.
Shops and other business establishments in nearly all major towns of the district remained closed to protest the killing of three youths. “We had lodged missing report with police station Bumai two months ago, nothing was done to trace him”, Rashid told Mirror.
