Floods watchdog Vigicrues, however, warned that supertides are forecast along the Atlantic coast until Tuesday, and said that the resulting damming of floodwater flowing into the estuary from the river could lead to localised flooding along stretches of the river, including at Rouen and Bouille.
This picture taken on June 4, 2016 shows a flooded street of Tours, around 280 kms of Paris, following heavy rainfalls on the Cher region.
No details have been given about the latest victim of the floods which caused the river Seine in Paris to rise to, 6.1 metres overnight. The national library and the Grand Palais in Paris were also closed.
Mr Valls did not elaborate, but that brings the total death toll across Europe from two weeks of flooding to 18. The Rock am Ring festival was suspended Saturday, with organizers urging tens of thousands of festival-goers to seek shelter.
The French energy company Enedis said over 17,000 homes were still without electricity on Saturday in the Paris region and central France.
French weather agency Meteo France has put 13 regions, including the Ile-de-France, under orange alert and chose to maintain the alert system in these areas till Sunday morning based on risks of flood in these areas.
“It’s impressive. Very impressive”, said Marijke Engelvaart from Apelsdoorn in the Netherlands.
Officials say they don’t expect water levels, however, to return to normal for at least a week after peaking above six metres.
Valls stated that as the water level of the Seine river decreases, several ministerial meetings will be held in within next week to come up with feasible action plans to ensure quick financial help for all those affected. Several train and subway stations were shut down in the city center due to the flooding and Paris drivers still faced major problems due to flooded roads.

Eva Palomares, a holidaymaker from the Italian city of Milan, said she was disappointed to be unable to visit the Louvre but added: “The star today is the Seine. “(But) it’s tricky to dock, because you need to follow the water flow.
