Rivera expects Thomas Davis to start Sunday
Coach Ron Rivera on Friday announced that linebacker Thomas Davis and defensive end Jared Allen will start Sunday’s Super Bowl 50 showdown against the Denver Broncos.

Allen suffered a broken bone in his foot and was unable to play against the Cardinals. “I know it’s going to be different when you’re actually out there and things are live when we’re playing the game on Sunday, but at the same time for it to be my first opportunity to get back out there I really felt good”.
“They are the No. 1 defense on the planet, and everyone says defense wins championships”, Broncos running back C.J. Anderson said of his defensive unit. “I believe they will be given the ‘all clear'”. Allen was limited in practice on Wednesday but was able to fully practice on both Thursday and Friday, according to Newton.
Sports fans are smiling after a Canadian TV station used an image of a Florida hockey team in a Super Bowl graphic. Doctors installed a medal plate in his forearm and stitched him up from his elbow to his wrist, allowing the 32-year-old to play on Sunday. Davis had 75 tackles with 5.5 sacks this year, his fourth straight season of 70-plus tackles.
“I don’t know. We’ll see”, Davis said, via the Charlotte Observer. Sporting a brace on the victor’s podium after the game, the first-time Pro Bowler let it be known that he would be playing the Super Bowl no matter what. The company (and Davis and the Panthers, most likely), hopes it’ll absorb enough of the impact from tackling, and getting tackled, to prevent Davis’ arm from breaking again.
Outside of the injured reserve players, no one else will miss Super Bowl 50.
It got him to the title game, gave him a chance to chase a championship.

The brace was printed using 3D scans of Davis’ arm after the injury and was sent to the player this week for testing. “It’s all about how I feel that day when I wake up and go on the field and walking out there”.
