The world’s largest 4G network has gone live across India under Reliance Jio. We are hoping that the company would launch its fiber broadband services with very competitive tariff plans just like its 4G service.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio) on Thursday had announced the launch of its digital services with Jio Welcome Offer which will be effective from Sept 5.

Highest quantum of 4G spectrum: Jio has the highest quantum of 4G spectrum across the 800 MHz, 1,800 MHz and 2,300 MHz bands. “The 149 plan would be key to attracting a majority of the new subscribers due free voice calls and then migrate these towards data”.
Similarly, Airtel too has said that it will revise its tariff plans for high ARPU customers in both the prepaid and the post-paid segments.
The form filling and verification is done using Aadhaar data and the customer’s fingerprint and the facility is being rolled out at various locations.
Jio will effectively charge for data at five paisa per MB or Rs 50 per GB. All that buyers should ensure is to have any 4G-enabled handset.
What if you cross the Data Limit that they give? UBS Securities Pvt. Ltd report pointed out that the entry of Reliance Jio has the potential to further disrupt the market in terms of cuts in data tariffs, but at the same time, acknowledges that there is also a possibility that it would lead to an expansion of the data subscriber base, ultimately benefitting other telecom vendors.
“In India, a challenger has never been able to beat a leader in the market”. As the Jio Fiber is now in testing phase you can’t just go and ask for a connection like you can request a Jio 4G SIM. Jio claims its rivals have refused to allocate the company sufficient “interconnection points”, which allow Jio phones to call Vodafone or Airtel users, leading to a 65% call failure rate during trials.

It is also to be noted that all the above factors will depend on how well Jio maintains its low tariffs and service quality. In a separate tweet, he posted a speed test result showing download speeds of 743Mbps and upload speed of 73Mbps. He declared his plans to provide wireless data connectivity to students.
