RNC chair Reince Priebus disavows ex-KKK leader David Duke
“Now, however, Duke is seeking the open seat left vacated by Republican David Vitter”. Won election in 1996 as Republican Party Chairman in the largest Rep. district in Louisiana and served until 2000.

The election is November 8, with all candidates, regardless of party, running against each other.
The National Republican Senate Committee Executive Director Ward Baker was quick to say that the committee would not be supporting Duke, according to ABC News.
But apparently, Duke now feels there’s room for the both of them in Washington.
“The Republican Party opposes, in the strongest possible terms, David Duke’s candidacy for any public office”.
The ex-KKK leader took to his website on Friday to announce plans to run for U.S. Senate in Louisiana, just one day after Donald Trump officially accepted the GOP nomination for president with a freakish and lengthy speech at the RNC on Thursday evening.
But the extremist hate preacher, who has been an outcast from most of civilised society for years, has apparently been so inspired by the rise of Donald Trump that he’s running for Congress too.
State Sen. Karen Carter Peterson, chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party.
“David Duke’s destructive rhetoric and legacy have the potential to rip our state and our country apart”. His views are a relic of ancient history and are repugnant to Louisianians. (He means white people.) Duke is declaring himself to be the candidate for white people who feel like they’re not getting a fair shake in America.
Yes, perhaps sensing that his moment has come and wanting to pounce on the opportunity to seize the day and ride the hate wave into power – he even cited the shifting “Overton window” on Twitter recently – Duke seemingly out of nowhere announced his candidacy this morning via social media and a video posted to YouTube. Instead, candidates from all parties are placed on the same ballot. Duke apparently ignored Trump’s proclamation of support for Israel – a customary-to-the-point-of-parody hallmark of any modern GOP convention speech – something he took serious issue with in speeches by Newt Gingrich, Ted Cruz, and Mike Pence.
Duke is a former state representative who represented suburban New Orleans for one term more than two decades ago and was an unsuccessful candidate for Congress.
Caroline Fayard, Democratic candidate for Senate.
Hence, the quick disowning of David Duke on Friday. “You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group I know nothing about!” It goes against everything I fought to defend with my military service. “I emphatically denounce every opportunist that would seek to divide our great nation”. John Fleming, retired Air Force Col.

He enters the race amid a rise in racial tensions in Louisiana. I think, probably in a moral sense, the Jewish people have been a blight.
