Robbery Suspect Caught After Using Uber as Getaway Vehicle

Looks like robbers are trying a new getaway vehicle.

The Uber driver and second passenger were released without charge, after verification of their identities with police satisfied the pair had “nothing to do with the robbery”.

On Wednesday of last week, 23-year-old Dashawn Terrell Cochran entered a store just outside of Baltimore, and after walking to the register with an item, pulled a gun and demanded all their cash.

Authorities say Cochran feigned purchasing a few Tylenol before whipping out a pistol and stealing money from the register.

While a K-9 unit was tracking the suspect, he was spotted getting into the back of the silver Lexus.

Uber has made a fortune connecting stranded pedestrians with private-hire automobiles, however has come underneath hearth from taxi drivers.

When police pulled over the auto, they found Cochran, his Uber driver and a second passenger.

Cochran is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $250,000 bail, court records show.
